Do you wear gloves or do you like your hands in the soil?
I’ve never worn gloves to garden until about 3 years ago. My helper friend and I were cleaning up the Big garden late in the year and it was cold. He had a pair of special gloves he lent me. I loved them and when he came back, he’d bought me a pair!
So I use them when the soil is really cold. But otherwise I garden barehanded.
Basil nipping stained fingers
You can see my nails are really short, sometimes to the quick. I have very weak fingernails, I say like tissue paper. So they are usually broken off short. This is year round, as doing projects breaks them too.
And all during the season, they are stained beyond cleaning.
