On Thursday morning about 7:30AM I was at the computer working on the bills/budget, again. A young bear crossed past the window and went behind the woodshed. By the time I got the camera and got to the laundry room, it was starting to go down into the swamp, so, one blurry photo.
Tom called before he left on vacation and I found out that what we all thought was allergies was actually an illness going around, with the running nose, and cough that eventually went into your chest. That had happened to me during Tuesday night. The last 2 days has been coughing up stuff, but not constantly as before. But we’d never run a fever, felt ill, had stomach issues or had the aching that normally accompanies an illness.

I spent the whole morning working on the bills/budget and resting. Around noon, I started getting ready to go to the quilling class at the Senior Center. I am past contagion I think, but plan to wear a mask just in case.

I’d made all the petals and some of the leaves at the first class, in addition to the samples card.

This time she showed us the one on the bottom, which I can’t remember the name of. I made the rest of the leaves and the stem and got them all glued onto the backboard of the frame.
It was a fun, quiet way to spend the afternoon.
The idea of planting the mock orange under my bedroom window was so the scent would drift in. But I’ve been so congested I haven’t smelled it. Sigh…
My poor camera is dying and I didn’t get but one in focus shot on Thursday. The wildflowers are glorious, the coreopsis is full bloom but this doesn’t even come close to it.
I tried a close-up but it was only marginally better.
The New Herb garden is getting VERY weedy and I’d hoped to be out there all week. But the coughing is taking all my energy, and so the weeds grow unabated.
I took this on Thursday evening at 8PM, just before I went to bed. The colors and the light were amazing.
On Friday, I hope to finish all the stuff I didn’t get done on Thursday: cleaning the kitchen, laundry, and bills/budget. It all depends on how much of the night is spent coughing…
