On Friday my helper friend and I got all the rest of the little trees planted. These above were planted on Thursday.
These were the ones planted on Friday.
We were much more efficient in planting on Friday, plus we had an hour longer to work.
My helper friend dug the holes for the grapes and made up the mixes. These holes were a little smaller and we only put in 2 wheelbarrows full of mix before filling with plain soil.
Then we tested each drip hose (one was a leaker and discarded) and put them around the trees. I’m trying to find woodchips to spread on top of them and along the whole length.
We forgot to put water in the grapes holes so they got the driphoses for 4 hours to soak them well. Then I ran the hoses for the other trees.
My son got the sods picked up so we are ready for woodchips if I can find them.
In the late afternoon my tenant took me to Lowes to pick up the posts for the grape arbor. He will be building it on Sunday or Monday.
The socket spikes to hold the 4” x 4” posts also came in on Friday.
My contractor has returned to finish the woodshed. He moved the fence rails onto the firewood stacks and got most of the inside wall built. He’ll be back on Monday.
Saturday I’m going to a plant sale close by to look for more herbs. Around noon Tom will be taking me to see my granddaughter play baseball. It will be an easier day and cooler than the last 2 days.
