Big garden –Swiss chard
I spent the night with 2 cold packs on my leg and got a good bit of sleep, if interrupted. So I was up at 5AM, got my post up, and headed out to the Big garden to pick peas.
I had brought out a small bowl in case I found any sugar pod peas. But I had to swap it out for a big bowl as the sugar pod peas are having a second go at producing.
I didn’t get anywhere near as much as I expected off the green peas though. They both went into the house to stay cool until I could process them.

I got the yard set for mowing and went up to the barn. I had to move the truck out of the way and then I got the mowers out and headed to the house. The first thing I do when I get there is check the oil and gas in both mowers. Then I spend about an hour pushing the little mower around doing trim work.

Then I spent about an hour and a half mowing the yard on the rider. The grass was very lush and slightly wet, so I had to unplug the exhaust chute a lot.
Once the yard was done I headed to the barn and got started mowing up there. Tom showed up when I was half done. He had a job for the Kubota and was getting the trailer ready to haul it away. Both tires were flat on the trailer.
When Tom was doing the foliar on Saturday, he noticed the magnolia was flowering again.
I finished at the barn and came back to the house and put the chairs back under the trees. Shortly after that Tom left with the Kubota and I headed in to get a shower and rest.

I started the peas about noon and finished processing them around 2PM. I got 2 pints of sugar pods and 1 pint of green peas. Then I watched a movie all afternoon.
I plan to try to sleep with the cold packs again on Sunday night. I have 2 appointments on Monday, so no garden work, just doing laundry and cleaning the kitchen. It’s to be cloudy and rain all afternoon. I sure hope it does, we need the rain here.
