On Tuesday morning the storm had been forecast to start about 8AM. I went out at 7AM to do chores and there were faint flurries. When I checked the weather guy’s page, he said the storm had been downgraded to 1” - 4”.
I went and found my laptop I used to use for workshops and got it going. I hoped to be able to use it on the kitchen table. It did connect but the signal was so poor the garden plan page wouldn’t open at this end of the table.
My general helper had arrived and we tried moving the laptop to the other end. It did better there. So we got busy finishing the herb order and New Herb garden plan.
Because the garden plan program took so many resources, I had to use my tablet to look up various herbs. Once the New Herb garden was finished, we started on the veg garden plans. We tried to use the garden plan on the laptop, but it was too small to see well.
So we ended up going into the office. I sat at the computer and check varieties and after cleaning off the 8’ table, she stood and drew them onto the plan. We managed to get everything on with room to spare.
This is because I don’t grow potatoes anymore, am not having a cherry tomato, and am growing fewer onions. We worked until 1PM and I ate lunch and she looked up herb varieties she wanted to add to my order.
I got a call about this time from the solar company. They were getting hammered to the south of us (Hartford, CT had 11” - 13”) and couldn’t work down there. So they sent a tech to do a final check on the system. He arrived just after 1:30PM. We 0” of snow, just cold and cloudy.
I learned a lot of things from him and he gave me a number to reach him if I had further problems. He left at 2:30PM and I was too tired to continue on plans.
I went out just after 5PM and was delighted to see the sun just setting at 5:15PM.
It’s still in the southwest, but not as far as it was. The Equinox is just over a month away now.
On Wednesday I have exercise class in the morning and my general helper will arrive at noon. We hope to finish the plans and the orders.
