On Wednesday my general helper said she would come out but stay outside even though the temperature was barely in the 40’s. She would continue work on the 2nd section in the Big garden.
The first job was to get up all the squash vines and pull them out of the fencing. Didn’t she do an excellent job? Not a tendril to be seen on the wires!
By the way, she took the opening photo, which is why it’s so much better than mine. She’s in school for photography.
Then she cleaned out all the weeds and started to mulch.
In the middle she ran to the store for me. And at the end she stretched out the 2 remaining hoses to thaw so they could be put away.
I had been obsessing over all that had to be done and how there was no way I could get it done. This wonderful young woman has eased my mind.
Monday night had been the first of several heavy frosts to come this week. The nasturtiums got hit, but not bad enough to turn them black.
The rest of the Big garden needing harvested, cleaned out, and garlic planted. There are still zinnias flowering.
Wednesday will be much of the same for me: resting, drinking lots of fluids, being bored out of my skull, and trying to eat something. Haven’t really eaten since Saturday night. Coughing comes and goes, as does the pain. I was going to say I’m as weak as a kitten, but I think a kitten could knock me over if I were standing, which I get about 5 minutes of before getting dizzy.
It will be a cold rainy day so no work in the garden in the evening for my general helper.
