South garden – the first daffodil buds
On Sunday morning I didn’t get up until 6:30AM and I got one of my posts up. It was a cloudy cold day so I got the fires going and tried to keep them going all day.
I got the kitchen cleaned up and started laying out for the 2nd seed starting. My #1 intern would be home around 1:30PM and do the actual planting.
First I laid out the first 6 trays and got the pots in them. I rested a while and then came out and got the seeds sorted out and the notes made. Another rest and I came out and moved the onions and got the fans set up.
After another rest and some lunch, I started trying to figure out how to make a hanger for the new lights. I got one made and realized I’d forgotten to get hooks and chains to hang it. Sigh… Fortunately our local hardware store was open until 4PM, so my #1 intern and I zoomed down and got what we needed. Then we stopped at the co-op for groceries and snacks for watching a movie in the evening.
Once back home, I went to hang the light and the hanger broke. Sigh… The design was good; the materials not up to the job. So I re-did the hangers with some of the chain I just bought. Those won’t break! Now I hope I have enough chain left to hang the rest of the new lights…
My #1 intern kept at the seed starting and I cleaned up the mess I had made and went to sit down. I was exhausted.
Almost done…
What I started:
She got done and did all the clean up. I came out and we got supper made and went in to watch ‘The Magic of Belle Isle’ again. (The first time the end pixilated…) I’d gotten the stoves going while waiting for supper so once the movie ended I just had to pull shades and head to bed.
On Monday I have exercise class, a corned beef dinner at the Senior Center followed by an event about Irish railway workers. Then I have PT mid afternoon.
If I can find the time I should start laundry, and I have 5 more lights to make hangers and chains for. It’s to rain all day but be in the 50’s, near 60, sigh… No good days until after the end of the month, it looks like.
