On Wednesday I had very little energy. The hay mulch was delivered late morning and we got it in the barn. That was about all I got done.

My general helper came at 5:00PM and she got the garlic chives in the New Herb garden deadheaded before they started dropping seeds.
Then we did a couple errands and I got my evening chores done.
On Thursday I intended to go out to the Big garden. But I spent an hour and a half cleaning the mess in the kitchen so I sat down for a while at 8AM and woke up at 10:15AM.
My helper friend arrived at 11:30AM and we got some of the pea fences hung up. The rest we may need for the Little trees II bed. Every time we go into the garden shed, it gets a little neater and organized.
Once that was done, we headed out to the Big garden to finish that north section. I started weeding it and he pulled up more vines.
He found more gourds to take home and checked out all these gray squash I had not planted. I think I got the wrong seed because there were supposed to be Sunshine kabocha squash and I got none of those.
Most of them had been eaten into too far by something, only these 2 were ok. They will get turned into a huge batch of roasted vegs on Friday while it rains.
He started hauling the last of the mulch hay from the driveway and putting it down while I started on the second section. I can’t clean out where the squash is as I’m waiting for the butternuts to finish ripening.
I had wanted to get the outside chairs cleaned up and up to the barn for my son to put away inside. So my helper friend and I got them washed up and into the truck. My son got them into the barn for me.
This meant we had cleaned out the driveway and the Christmas tree farm guy could bring in 30 more bales of mulch. He had stored it outside under a tarp so it could not go in the barn. It would be nearly enough to finish the Big garden with what was at the other end too.
So I went in and called him to tell him, in case he wanted to bring it before it rained. At 1:45PM I glanced at the calendar and realized I had an appointment at 2PM and I needed a shower badly. So I was a little late for it.
The contractor arrived to work on the trim for the woodshed around 3PM. Those little pieces of white sure made a difference.
On Friday as I said, my helper friend and I will be making roasted vegs. He’ll have to get some pears and onions, as I’ve no onions for the year. That will probably be all I accomplish on Friday.
