On Wednesday I spent most of the morning feeding seedlings and house plants. This takes a long time and is a standing job that really wears me out. Then I went out to shake out sods. At the time the sun was shining on the white oak tree and its blossoms glowed. I was too tired to get the camera then. So an evening shot it is.
I got 3 more piles done. I really wanted to finish, but I was out of gas. So I went inside, ate lunch, and had a nap. While I was sleeping my son went out and made sure the wire was up on all the fenceline on the back 40 and middle pasture.
Late afternoon the little trees arrived. I had gotten everything I ordered.
They had long ago broken dormancy and would have to be planted immediately. On Thursday I will go out and get the last sod pile done and then start mixing up the amendment, compost and soil. I will also have to run a hose out there as it hasn’t rained all week and no sign of it next week. I will also have to drag out all the drip hoses to put around each tree.
My helper friend arrives at 11:30. It’s to hit the 80’s today, and be even worse on Friday.
