Hello, Echeveria lovers!
Today, I want to open the doors of My Petit Edén Jardín to show you one of my greatest passions: Echeverias.
These succulents are like living jewels; their perfect rosette shape and vibrant colors make them the stars of my garden.
Echeverias are stunning succulents belonging to the Crassulaceae family and are native primarily to the semi-desert areas of Mexico and Central America. This genus was named in honor of Atanasio Echeverría y Godoy, an 18th-century Mexican botanical artist who dedicated his life to illustrating the rich flora of his country. By growing them in My Petit Edén Jardín, we are not only cultivating plants with perfect geometry but also carrying on a botanical legacy that blends natural science with artistic history.
My Collection and New Additions
I have been building this collection for some short time, and a collector's heart always has room for more.
Recently, I added some new members to the family!
- Graptopetalum paraguayense, commonly known as the Ghost Plant, Mother-of-Pearl, or Marble Flower.
This one has been with me since I started. I love how its colors change depending on the sunlight.
- The New Jewel Echeveria Lilacina Monstrose:
This is my latest addition! I was captivated by the texture of its leaves and its delicate edges.
My Secret for a Healthy Echeveria Garden
To keep my "Petit Echeveria Edén" thriving, I follow two golden rules:
• Sunlight: They need plenty of indirect light to maintain their compact shape and bright colors.
• Watering: I only water when the soil is completely dry. In the world of Echeverias, "less is more."
Recently, all of them were outside but raining season is coming. I want to keep them alive and beautiful. Too much water can cause an Echeveria to rotten its roots and die. So I placed them inside the terrace where they can get plenty of sun but little water. The day I put them inside it rained and before moving them inside; I took some pictures first ‘cause even though too much rain can be deadly for Echeverias, drop rain on top of the leaves make them beautiful.
This is in whole my Echeveria collection though I have some more in other places of My Petit Eden Jardín.
Nature never ceases to amaze me with its geometry. I am so happy to see my little garden grow every day!

My Petit Edén Jardín: La belleza de mi colección de Echeverias
¡Hola, amantes de las Echeverias!
Hoy quiero abrirles las puertas de My Petit Edén Jardín para mostrarles una de mis mayores pasiones: las Echeverias.
Estas suculentas son como joyas vivientes; su forma de roseta perfecta y sus colores vibrantes las convierten en las estrellas de mi jardín.
Las echeverias son suculentas impresionantes que pertenecen a la familia Crassulaceae y son originarias principalmente de las zonas semidesérticas de México y Centroamérica. Este género fue nombrado en honor a Atanasio Echeverría y Godoy, un artista botánico mexicano del siglo XVIII que dedicó su vida a ilustrar la rica flora de su país. Al cultivarlas en My Petit Edén Jardín, no solo estamos cuidando plantas de geometría perfecta, sino que también continuamos un legado botánico que une la ciencia natural con la historia del arte.
Mi colección y nuevas adiciones
He estado formando esta colección durante muy corto tiempo y el corazón de un coleccionista siempre tiene espacio para más. ¡Recientemente, añadí algunas nuevas integrantes a la familia!
- Graptopetalum paraguayense, comúnmente conocida como planta fantasma, madre perla o flor de mármol.
Esta me ha acompañado desde el principio. Me encanta cómo cambian sus colores según la luz del sol.
- La nueva joya Echeveria Lilacina Monstrose:
Esta es mi última adquisición! Me cautivó la textura de sus hojas y sus bordes delicados.
Mi secreto para un jardín saludable
Para mantener mi "Petit Echeveria Edén" hermoso, sigo dos reglas de oro:
• Luz solar: Necesitan mucha luz indirecta para mantener su forma compacta y sus colores brillantes.
• Riego: Solo riego cuando el sustrato está completamente seco. En el mundo de las Echeverias, "menos es más".
Recientemente, todas ellas estaban afuera en el jardín, pero la temporada de lluvia está llegando y mucha agua puede hacer que las raíces se pudran y la planta muera. Así que las puse dentro de la terraza donde aún cogen sol y muy poca lluvia. Pero antes de ponerlas adentro les tire una foto con gotas de lluvia encima, ya que aunque la lluvia puede ser mortal para ellas, algunas gotas lucen muy lindas arriba de las hojas.
Esta es en su mayoría mi colección de Echeverias aunque tengo algunas en otras partes de My Petit Eden Jardín.
La naturaleza nunca deja de sorprenderme con su geometría. ¡Estoy muy feliz de ver crecer mi pequeño jardín cada día!
