Hello my dear Hivers of the community. I hope you and your plants are doing well today!
Today I want to share something simple yet very special from my mother’s little garden. Her only orchid that’s currently in full bloom! This lovely orchid grows on a dead lanzones tree, which now serves as its natural home. It’s amazing how something lifeless can still give life to something so beautiful.
It’s been about a week since the flowers fully bloomed. Every time I pass by, I can’t help but admire its beauty. The petals are a lovely shade of purple, standing out against the dry texture of the old tree.
I noticed today that one of the petals has already started to wilt, but there are still a few buds on the edge that are yet to open, so there’s still more beauty to look forward to.
My mother takes good care of this orchid every single day. She waters it regularly, making sure it doesn’t get too dry under the sun. She also has her own simple but effective trick for fertilizer. She puts a cracked eggshells at the base of the plant. She says it helps the orchid stay healthy and bloom beautifully, and it really does!
I wanted to take a closer photo of the orchid to show its delicate details, but it’s growing quite high up. The lanzones tree is more than six feet tall, so I couldn’t reach it.
Still, from where I stood, it looked so stunning especially with today’s bright sunny weather. The sunlight made its purple color glow even more beautifully.
That's all for today. Thanks for reading this far. Til my next post!
