Hive Garden Question Week #47 "Feeling Good"

In agriculture, the most inspiring story is the one that encourages us to never give up despite the challenges of the terrain where we're planting, or perhaps because we lack the tools to apply fertilizers or chemicals that could help the plants grow faster and prevent diseases that could harm them before we see the fruits of our labor. For example, the yucca plants we have at home are about six months old, and as you can see in the photos, they haven't grown as much as we would have liked. But my dad always waters them because he's hopeful that they'll soon take off for our benefit.

I also have some eggplant and sweet pepper plants at my grandmother's house, but the eggplants, in particular, have been the most trouble. To be honest, they haven't grown much at all, but I think it's because of the soil, which, as you can see, isn't the most suitable. But I keep at it because I'm sure that with perseverance I can eat some, whether roasted, fried, or sliced. Their versatility is what keeps me from giving up and allows me to have some available whenever I want to pick them.

I also have some bean plants nearby, which were growing beautifully. One morning, when I went to water them, I found a very unpleasant surprise: an animal, which I still don't know the species of, ate almost all of them. They only left a few, but you can see it better in the photos. Perhaps someone knowledgeable might have an idea of ​​how to prevent them from appearing in my small garden, where I hope to grow good food for myself and my family.
