A few days ago, my dad asked one of the people who come to collect water if he had any, since he's known for always having his food on hand. And indeed, he did. The person told him he'd bring them some, so he left them last week (I was at work). My dad then stored them to soak them in water later because they looked a bit dry.
They soaked for several days until the bulbs and their roots were well hydrated, as you can see in the photos. First, there's a photo with some plants, and then one of each bulb so they could be planted.
At the time of planting, I couldn't share photos (I was working and my dad forgot), but he told me he cut off the green parts to add to meals, especially stews, as well as to give a special touch to salads and to decorate dishes for my sister. He then planted the bulbs in old gourds so they could grow there while he looks for a good spot with quality soil that will help them thrive as quickly as possible.
In total, there were two gourds with the spring onions. That definitely makes me very happy, and also because of the extra money I earned these last few days of work, which meant I wasn't paying as much attention to my plants. But now that I have a few days off, I'll definitely catch up and share the best possible photos in the #hivegarden community, where those passionate about agriculture, as well as those who like to grow their own food at home, have their own space.
