A bunch of young blackberry fruits.
The rain came the other day (Thursday) so the air was smelling fresh yesterday morning. The earth around us have been bathed and the dust cleansed so vigorously by the generous raindrops. My brother's boys were loud, teasing each other saying they can go to the bar 'coz the rain in summer had done the job of watering their crops. Mother nature surely knows when to send her blessings.
So I took a little time outside and enjoyed photographing some droplets on the few greens.
Peruvian Lily drenched in droplets
The grapevine was happy, I believe. It wilts, then thrives again and the cycle repeats. Hope to see it one day bear fruits though.
I then spent some hours at my parent's house preparing breakfast and having chitchat. The old man excused himself to check on things elsewhere so it was just me and mom. After feeding and giving her meds, I went out for some sunshine. Took this photo of a bee enjoying its time on the red periwinkle. The sun was bright and the droplets have already dried up.
Having been questioned by my lil Ahjay why I don't clean our front yard, I decided to get it done afterwards. Weeds have overtaken the small space which was initially planned to have Bermuda grass on and to be installed with an outdoor umbrella but it turned out that the grass we had back then wasn't the real one so we scraped them out.
Then we moved to the our lil kingdom so the space stayed that way, except it was surrounded with flowers and plants. Now they are almost no more - most of them wilted, pots broken, everything's crying out loud for clearing. Rather shameful to show them but yep, this is how neglected they've been.😁
And so at half-past 10, I got my gloves on and started the yard work. Ahjay came around smiling, her eyes seems to say "good job!" She talked me on to cleaning this and that then went away quickly, lol!
It took me some time to finish the job checking on mom from time to time. We had lunch where I got scared when she almost choked. I observed that she laughs and cries really easily these days. She's gotten so sensitive when she's happy or sad.
Today is my fourth day being here. It's noisier but also nice to see people more than what we are used to at our secluded lil kingdom. I like it better there yet it feels good to be here too. That sounded funny and perhaps contradictory but yeah, that's how things are. Here, I get to see Mom everyday and spend a bit more time with her. She started having therapy and we are hopeful her legs will gain a bit mobility. Also good to see how the old man is spoiling her.
Anyway, I went back to my yard work at past 1 pm and found some beauties on a log where the mini green house used to be. Gloves off and click, click! The fungi are dry and hard.
3 sacks full of trash (plastic bottles, betel nut husks, snack or candy wrappers etc. My brother's boys are sometimes annoying they just toss their rubbish when they pass by. Hope this time that our yard is cleared, they will at least be ashamed and not do the same things.
I didn't notice what time I was done with the clearing but I was exhausted that I left the weeds lying around the places and called it a day. "Who cleaned the yard out?" the husband teased on arriving at 8. Perhaps he's proud? He better be or else. LOL!
Cheers to a happy weekend!
