Hello Gardeners
How are you today ? I hope and pray, we are all always given health and also happiness in living this life. This time, I came back to Hive Garden Community to share stories and also my experiences about my activities in my hydroponic garden. What happened to my hydroponic garden? keep watching and don't go anywhere.
During this week, the weather is quite hot where I live. The sun was shining very hot, the weather also became hot and dry. I've seen signs of the dry season in Medan City, the city where I live. One of the signs that we can see and understand is the tree leaves that have started to fall. However, I am lucky to live in Indonesia. As a tropical country, we only have two seasons, namely the rainy season and the dry season and during the dry season, it still rains occasionally and those conditions are very suitable for carrying out agricultural activities.
Condition of Pakcoy in My Hydroponic Garden
First, I want to invite my friends to see the condition of the pakcoy that I plant in my hydroponic garden. In my two weekly hydroponic journals, I discuss the infestation of rats in my hydroponic garden on the vegetables I am growing.
During this one week, I sprayed natural rat poison into my hydroponic garden area, especially on the hydroponic media that I planted this pakcoy. That natural rat poison, I made with a mixture of garlic, shallots and water. I use a lot of garlic, so it smells great in my hydroponic garden. I'm sure people who come to my hydroponic garden and smell the garlic will think I'm doing a vampire exorcism ritual.
Currently, the pakcoy that I plant in my hydroponic garden is about 29 days old after sowing. Pakcoy conditions grow very fertile and optimal. We can see from the color condition of the pakcoy leaves that look green and fresh. The leaves are also not attacked by pests such as caterpillars, only a few traces of rat attacks.
During this week, I have sold around 165 pakcoy pots with their netpots. I got a call from one of the big company offices in my city. The company has a hydroponic installation in its office, but does not have any plants on display at the hydroponic installation. Finally, they bought to me. So, you already understand, right? Pakcoy or other vegetables can also be a plant to add beauty to our homes.
Spinach Conditions in My Hydroponic Garden
Next, I invite my friends to see the condition of the spinach that I'm trying to grow in my hydroponic garden. In the past few weeks, I've been curious about how to grow spinach in hydroponic media. I tried to start by sowing spinach seeds and eventually was able to grow about 80 pots of spinach in my hydroponic garden.
The growth of 80 pots of spinach in my hydroponic media can still be said to be good but not optimal. The growth of spinach in this planting period was still not uniform, some of the spinach that I planted grew very fertile, and some others also grew smaller. I think this will be a good lesson for me.
I also transferred the spinach seeds that I sowed last week to my hydroponic growing medium. I moved around 90 spinach seedlings in my hydroponic garden, even though I seeded about 220 seedlings but only about 40% were suitable for transfer to the planting medium. In this planting period, I use liquid fertilizer with a concentration of 1300 ppm. I hope that the spinach that I plant this time grows better than the previous planting period.
Conditions of Lettuce in My Hydroponic Garden
Next, I invite you to see the condition of the lettuce that I grow in my hydroponic garden. I grow about 250 pots of lettuce in my hydroponic garden. I grow lettuce on the second floor balcony of my house.
The lettuce in my hydroponic garden is still growing well and optimally. The growth of lettuce is indeed slower than vegetables such as pakcoy or caisim. However, lettuce will get more significant growth in the fourth week of the growing period. I always love when these salad moments grow and develop. I used hydroponic liquid fertilizer with a concentration of around 600-700 ppm in this planting period. I hope, in this planting period I will get a crop that is as good as the previous planting period.
Caisim Conditions in My Hydroponic Garden
There's something I forgot to cover last week, I also grow mustard greens or caisim in my hydroponic garden. I didn't plant much, only about 80 pots for my family's vegetable needs.
I like caisim, because this vegetable goes very well with instant noodles. The caisim that I planted in my hydroponic media grew well and optimally. I'm sure, in two weeks I will be able to harvest and enjoy caisim from my own hydroponic garden.
Mint Leaves Condition in My Hydroponic Garden
During this week, I have many orders for mint leaves. I have to provide almost 1 kilogram of mint leaves from my hydroponic garden. I can get it, but have to try as hard as possible to optimize the yield of this mint.
As you can see, the mint leaves in my hydroponic garden look like they have been pruned and harvested. I think, I have to add another hydroponic installation for mint leaves in my hydroponic garden.
My plan, I want to optimize all parts of the iron fence around my house to make a simple pipe installation. I thought, installing hydroponics on the fence would make my home and hydroponic garden look more beautiful. That's all for my weekly hydroponic journal this time, see you next week.
