Greetings to everyone π
I hope everyone is having a good time and staying warmπ
In this blog , I will share with you all about apple plantation . We had planted new variety of apples during January.
For plantation , we need:
A spade
A Hoe
Organic manure
We have planted M9 variety of apple plants this year . M9 is dwarfing rootstock which produces a tree size of approximately 25-30% of full sized standard tree. It should be planted on fertile and well drained soil. M9 is planted in a row with a row distance of 10-14 feet and plant distance of 4-8 feet.
Process of Apple Plantation:
We have to dig pits measuring 60 cm before 2 weeks prior to plantation using spade and hoe .
The pits are filled firstly with organic matter and manure .
Now , the pits are filled with loamy soil and if you cannot arrange loamy soil , then you can also add the upper layer of soil , which you have to put aside when you are digging the pit .
Now , Planting is done in the center of the pit with the roots putting in the pit with the help of fingers slowly and gently.
The soil should be beneath the propagated point . Loose soil is filled up in the remaining area which is taken out from pit.
Now , we have to press the surrounded soil lightly with our feet to remove air gaps .
Now , apple plantation is done . After 2 days , irrigate each plant and fertilize with high phosphorus liquid fertilizer.
I hope you do find this blog informative. Do let me know if you have suggestions or anything about apple orchards , I would love to hear and learn from you allπΏ
