Hello, my friends! How are you all today? Now, I’m going to show you some pictures of the plants I saw beside the houses while I was walking.
This morning. I went to the church to clean and get it ready for tomorrow’s service. Every week, someone is assigned to do the cleaning and today was my turn. I just walked to the church because it’s not very far, only about 15 minutes away. Even though it was hot it was okay since I brought my umbrella.
While walking on the shortcut path, I saw some plants on the side, so I decided to take pictures for my blog. I saw many kinds of plants, but I only took a few photos because I was in a hurry my friend was already waiting for me at the church.
I always pass by Ate Vicky’s house, and I see her plants there. No space is wasted if you really want to plant. She has flowers, lemongrass and even taro on the side. Even though the space outside her house is small she still found a way to plant. She said she just doesn’t have much time to take care of it. There are many weeds that need to be removed so the plants can grow better. But she goes to work every day. She has children, but she can’t ask them to do it, so the weeds are still there.
Is that really turmeric or luyang Dilaw ? I’m not sure because the leaves are wide. I also saw something like that with flowers. I don’t know if there are different kinds of turmeric. It’s good to boil and drink, especially now that I have a cough. The neighbor said the owner wasn’t there because she went to the market, so I had no one to ask.
What a great idea! The papaya is planted in a paint bucket. I’m wondering if it will bear fruit. I just hope it won’t fall over when it grows bigger. There’s really always a way. I also remember my moringa planted in a bucket. I’m happy because I can already cook vegetables from it. I hope the papaya grows well and gives many fruits.
Taro leaves are delicious when cooked with coconut milk and dried fish. That’s my husband’s favorite, and he’s really good at cooking it. I know many Filipinos can relate to this dish it’s simple but tasty.
See, everything can really be used in some way instead of throwing it away. It’s an old toilet bowl, but they used it for planting. It would look even nicer if it was painted. It’s amazing how they made use of it. I should not have thrown away the one we replaced, I didn’t think it could still be used.
It’s really nice to see plants everywhere. The ideas I see, like planting in an old toilet bowl, are rare and creative. I also realized that we should value things and not throw them away right away because they can still be used for planting. But if there’s no space at home to put them, then there’s no choice but to throw them away.
That’s it for today’s story! Thank you for staying with me until the end of this blog. Your time and support mean a lot to me. See you again in my next post.
All the photos are mine. I took them with my phone and edited them in Canva.
