Hello everyone! Sharing a quick update about my brother’s chili plants , some are ready for harvest, while others still need more time to grow.
Every day, rain or shine my brother Jemson is already at the farm early in the morning. He spends most of his time there checking the plants together with his workers as they take care of the crops. He knows that the rainy months are the best time to plant the soil is moist and healthy and the constant rain helps the crops grow strong. That’s why he never wastes a single day.
During the rainy months, that’s really the best time to plant, which is why my family is always busy at the farm especially my brother Jemson, whose crops cover such a wide area. As farmers, we believe that every drop of rain is a blessing. My brother Jemson has several kinds of crops growing on his farm chili, eggplant, squash, peanuts, corn, and many others. Each area is well-organized and carefully maintained, showing how much time and effort he and his workers put into their daily tasks.
It’s still dark during the start of work in the area that’s how it is here during the rainy season. The farm is close to the river, and I really love the cool air and the thick fog that appears when the weather gets cold. Sometimes, in the morning or even in the afternoon, the weather stays the same cloudy.
The chili field is the largest area on my brother’s farm, followed by the corn. What he likes most about growing chili is that it can be harvested weekly and right now, the price of chili is quite high. That’s why he really enjoys planting it. He also has newly planted chili that hasn’t started bearing fruit yet. Hopefully, by the time those are ready for harvest, the price will still be good.
The squash plants on my brother’s farm are still small, but my other brother, Arnold, his squash will soon be able to harvest. That’s how my brothers are very hardworking and always helping each other on the farm. They work hard for their families and for their children who are still studying. Right now, they keep planting while it’s still the rainy season, because once the dry months come, they’ll have to stop again. That’s the usual routine on the farm it’s tiring, but all the effort is worth it when they see the fruits of their hard work.
His workers are paid weekly, and my brother is always grateful for their hard work, especially when the prices of crops are high. To show his appreciation, he often treats them to meals and sometimes even takes them to the beach so they can relax and enjoy themselves. There are times when he also prepares a Lechon Baboy for everyone to share. That’s just how he is generous, thoughtful, and caring toward his workers. Because of that, they remain loyal to him and continue to help maintain the farm with dedication and pride.
I’m truly proud of my brothers and everything they’ve accomplished through hard work and patience. Farming is not easy it takes time, effort and a lot of sacrifice but they never give up. Rain or shine, they continue to plant, nurture, and harvest with love and dedication. Every crop that grows is proof of their perseverance and faith in God’s blessings. Seeing how far they’ve come reminds me that success doesn’t happen overnight it grows, just like their plants, through care and consistency. I’m grateful to share their journey and proud to call them my family.
