I've been looking forward to see a new plants in my garden everyday and finally after how many days I planted my Chayote or sayote already.
This plant is the one I'm dreaming to grow in my garden and harvest it's fruits but for the past years of engaging in gardening, I never once succeeded in growing chayote. I don't know why, maybe the place where I planted it or maybe the season or maybe the technique used.
I searched the internet for techniques in growing chayote and I found out common in them which is the one I used this time. I've included in my past blog that the chayote that we have has already developed it's shoots. Actually there's a two of them so I applied the technique I learned.
The technique that I learned is that when the chayote started to develop shoots, rinse it and keep it in a container for it to develop roots that will be the foundation of it's healthy growth.
I did it with my chayotes and in just a few days it developed roots already and I can say that the time of their development is really fast. Fast enough to amazed me and left my jaw hanging. As you can see in the photos below when I checked it's progress.
This is the other one that I'm telling, it's been damaged and has been infected by fungus so I didn't hope much that it will develop roots anymore but with that technique, it seems that it's the reason why it survived.
You can clearly see now it's roots coming out. A sign that it will live.
Last November 7, I finally planted it in a sack and to be observe as it continue to grow.
I woke up early that day and prepared the soil to be use. As usual I mixed a portion of rice hull and the organic soil giving me an ideal soil for my plant to grow well.
I filled half of the sack with the mixture and planted the chayotes as shown in the photos below.
It's just so easy growing chayote if you will use that kind of method. Keeping it in a container really helps the process.
I checked it this day and I'm so happy to see that one of it has already developed leaves and the other one is starting to take in good shape also. I look forward for further delevelopment of it's growth.
Update on my bitter gourd in a cup.
I planted it last November 5 when we got home and I did a technique also for it to grow fast.
In just 3 days,Noverber 8, it finally sprouted as you can see with that one in the photo and the other one has a visible of growth already.
Checking it this day made me really happy for it already made a huge progress. It's growth is really something just like the chayote.
I know for sure that the other reason for their fast growth is the soil. I think it's an ideal for gardening really. That's why I'm glad that it's available here in our place.
I need to prepare some poles for both of my new plants and bamboo will do the thing for it.
And that's how my gardening journey went again regarding my chayotes and bitter gourd in a cup.
Thank you for reading and don't forget to support for more garden updates and things. I wish you ave a good day.
-Plant,plant and you'll survive.
