This event and the photos are since January 27, 2022. I just wanted to share and let everyone know to whom I gave this squash. ^_^
This is the last 5 kilos of pumpkin prepared for my two friends. They said they will cook with coconut milk and shrimp paste! But I think it will taste even better if there is pork meat. ^_^
Harvesting
You will notice that the lone squash is really well hidden in the thick leaves! It's better not to be easily noticed by a thief! LOL. But wait!!! 2 Extra-person is in the picture! LOL
Its ripening is just right to harvest! The bottom of the pumpkin is yellow and when you press its body it sounds crispy! Ulala! hahaha.
It is easy to know if a squash can be harvested when its stem is yellow and it's bottom. Also noticeable on the skin of the squash is if its body is somewhat yellowish.
You can also know if it can be harvested when you notice that its stem is a bit brown and dry. I just don’t know the variety of this pumpkin. All I know is, it’s grown and matured by me to be ORGANIC edible.
Even its skin can be included in the cooking if it is freshly picked. You only need to drain the juice or resin for 30 minutes when you have cracked it.
