Hello hivers! Are you familiar of Lagundi leaves? Lagundi leaves are one of the best when it comes to herbal medicine for cough with pleghm but it's not so accessible since it will take years to grow a tree of it. my neighbor had this tree and this morning I went to the tree and collect some leaves. It's the same as oregano too, but the oregano can be planted easily and only took one month to grow leaves.
It was very early in the morning like 6 am that I went to our neighbor's house to ask for the lagundi leaf. Anyway my neighbor is very friendly and thanks to them because they had lots of fruits, vegetables and herbs in their backyard. This one is at the back part of their house and together here are the pineapples and rambutans. My two younger brother came here also together with my son. They are excited to pick some leaves too but actually they don't like the taste of this.
When I drew nearer there are only few young leaves. I only need the young leaves. Older people like my grandparents that only the young leaves is useful to make tea. They said that younger leaves is more watery since it's barely expose to the sunlight while the old leaves are now dry because it will be turning old yellow and brown means they do not have much oxygen. Another thing they said is that younger leaves are easy to pound. Pounding the leaves is way faster to heal but it's more bitter.
And these are the bunches of leaves I had collected. It's very little because the tree was kinda tall. I have to jump so I can reach the younger leaves. If I climb the tree might fall to the ground because it has a very little branches. I let my younger brother climb and tossed me the leaves that are young. It's difficult so I just go home having this I think 6 bunch of leaves but this is definitely good in number.
That was the whole tree. It's tall but the branches are so tiny it's difficult to climb for bigger people. And when I reached home. I just boiled this. My grandparents said pounding is better but it's so bitter and my kids would turn it away so instead I boiled it for 5 minutes. Secure the boiled water, let it cool then I have to mix it to their drinking bottle. My daughter loves herbs so it's not difficult for her to drink this. I just put it in the spoon and she will drink it and followed by a small amount of sugar. But my son, he doesn't like it. So I have to put it in the milk bottle. He doesn't have a cough so this is just a prevention for him.
Well, that's all for today hivers. I want to know some herbs found in your backyard garden. I hope to find it in the comment section. Thank you so much for reading my blogs, upvoting and reblogging it. I appreciate it so much.
