What marks the changing of seasons? The equinoxes & soltices? Or the cues from nature that something has shifted?
For me - I feel that spring is coming soon once the stone fruit trees are in bloom. Here are the pink flowers of nectarine and white flowers of the pear trees that I took photos of on a walk around my garden and the surrouding farm this week.
Their fruits are far off but none-the-less they contribute greatly to the ecosystem. Bees buzz around these first flowers of winter and butterflies bask on them during the lengthening days. I wanted to capture this fleeting moment of beauty between winter and spring. And as there is little else going on in the garden I took some time and made a little "potion" for medicine and fun.
So, here you see a magical tonic - a spring-inspired wild fermentation and flower essences 🧚🏻♀️🌼 Made with filtered water, local honey, and the blooms of these two trees, I let the tea infuse in the sun & all night beneath the tree.
Next week I will give an update on my veggie garden though I do hope you enjoyed this tour of the fruit garden and the beautiful blooms of the season.
