Happy Holidays everyone,
Christmas is fast approaching and I guess most of us are very excited about it. Not just the gifts and bonuses that we might receive (but me? I don't expect any bonus because I don't have a job for now but hopefully I can receive some from my hubby for being a full-time housewife😁) but also the time for us to gather our family to celebrate this wonderful time of the year.
Before this December ends, I would like to give an update on my Garden journey as well as to present my entry for this month garden journal.
Corns
This morning as I made my morning routine to roam around and check on my plants because nowadays, I've found too many caterpillars destroying my plants. I noticed that my corns are ready for harvest so I took some tools to use for harvesting.
Using a sickle I take down each corn and separate the fruit from the stem.
I yielded eight pieces of corn from the few kernels that I sow months ago and I'm planning to air dry them for future replanting to yield more.
Okra
I can still harvest some okras and however, they still produce good but I admit that I was too busy doing the household chores especially doing modules for my child these days so I haven't given much attention to combating my okras situation.
Papaya
I can't wait to taste this healthy fruit and maybe I'll be sharing this moment here too. Just a little patient and everything will pay off 🤤.
lemon grass
This was very useful last week, we roasted pork in a traditional Filipino way and added this lemongrass to enrich the tastes and aroma.
eggplants
I almost expected to have my first harvest by next month since flowers are coming out but father notice too many red ants around and ask me how to battle them so I told him to mix water with a little detergent and spray into them and have to rinse water by the next morning but my fault not to check if how did he make the solution. They were all withered due to spraying too much detergent and what's worst is he forgot to rinse it. I just found out in the afternoon they will all be withered, leaves are falling apart and seems they're about to die. I hurriedly pitch water to take them a deep bath to remove the detergent. Luckily that night it was raining so it give me a positive mind that most of them will survive.
The addition veggies
I'm adding string beans, spring onions and ginger and many more to my garden and I'm still working on my new projects so I'll be busy these days digging soil, removing unwanted weeds and carpentering and of course, sowing new seedlings to greet the coming year and I'm so excited to share it with you soon guys 🙂
I'm sharing with you also some of my hibiscus and poinsettia flowers that bloomed today
So if you still reading this far, Thank you so much I appreciate it. I hope to see how's your garden going on and Happy Holidays to you.
If you don't mind I'm inviting you ma'am and kabayan
maybe you want to participate too 🙂?
