Hi my loving Hivers,
What's up? I think you are doing well right now. Last Saturday and Sunday I had holiday then I didn't need to go my office for work force. Then I had chance to see our garden when we started weeding and then planting the corps seeding two weeks ago. I have received raw chilies seeds from my friend who are working in Agriculture farm in Labuduwa. So my wife quickly started to land preparation. After added sands, fertile soil and composts she started spread green chili seeds. Green chilli has become a valuable crop for the people of Sri Lanka as much as a staple food, and has become a powerful crop that can have an impact on the country's economy. Although the nutritional value is small, our staple food, rice, cannot be without green chillies. The appetizing as well as flavor of many nutritious foods is enhanced by the application of chilies.
Foryunately and carefulness many green chili small plants started growing faster with rainy period. Now those plants groing much better. A well-drained loamy soil is more suitable for cultivation. Care must be taken to select only well-drained paddies for cultivation in rice paddies. As the root system of the green chilli plant goes to a depth of about 60 cm, deep fertile soil containing organic matter is very favorable for cultivation.
Some time ago, the wife planted tomato seeds in beds and in the ground. Now those plants have grown to a certain level. Our village has the most favorable climatic conditions for growing the tomato crop, which is not resistant to all climates. A temperature range between 20-27 degrees Celsius is most favorable for tomato cultivation. Sufficient water should be applied for this crop. Do not overwater. If too much water is applied to crops, especially after a dry season, tomato fruit may explode. Therefore, more care should be taken in providing the water required for cultivation.
Papaya, a fruit rich in vitamin C, was abundant in our garden three years ago, but it has disappeared. But my lovely wife and mother are eager to grow them again because they are nutritious and available fresh. Also papaya is sold at a high price in the market.
Curry leaves are used to flavor food in our country's kitchen. In the past, curry leaves are a plant with valuable medicinal properties that were found in almost every garden. The curry plant generally tolerates dry weather conditions well and does well in naturally moist locations. Therefore, a slightly higher ground in the garden is suitable for growing a curry tree. Happy to see some of curry leaves plants growing much faster in our land.
Bitter gourd can be called a vegetable that can withstand any climate in Sri Lanka. It should also be mentioned that the yield of gourd cultivation can be obtained throughout the year and its price can also be maintained in balance. Bitter gourd, a vegetable that is in high demand in the market throughout the nineties, can be added to the diet if space is allocated in the garden. Application of fertilizers and irrigation It is essential to prepare the pits and apply basic fertilizers before planting the seeds.
Happy to see spinach growing our land. Spinach requires a well-drained site. At that place, the weeds should be controlled, the ground should be turned over and the soil should be finely prepared. Water drainage should be improved by placing raised beds in poor drainage areas.
Dambala grwing like as vines. These days Dambala flowers starting blossom. It mean very few time harvest will be ready. It contains more iron percentage.
If I have free time to involve with our garden definitely do the needful for growing corps for better prospective. Nowadays our corps cultivation showing good mood.
