Greetings, Fellow Seedling Caretakers!
The carrot seeds I planted about five or six weeks ago have finally reached a stage where one can really see their typical leaf pattern. The new leaves sprouting from the center.
They've been above the ground for some time now. Here is where and when they first appeared. It was about seventeen or eighteen days ago — two weeks and a half. And another two weeks and a half before that.
Honestly, I felt as if it has been longer than that. I seemed so long ago with no further development.
And now their identity is visually confirmed.
Five weeks from a seed to this stage.
And below is an image I also took today but of another pot where seeds were sown at the same time. But, who would have though, it seems that conditions matter. Perhaps not so irrigated, perhaps not so sunny, perhaps not so well kept warm during the first weeks...
...it's lagging behind, this crop.
Which is actually cool, if we get to the carrot picking stage. It would mean an extension of the period where we have fresh veggies.
To get there, though, I must at some point make the pots be big and spacious enough for them plants. That won't be easy.
For now, they are too closely packed next to each other. Transplanting some of them might not be a safe thing. But neither is leaving them in place.
Well, that's life for you. Nobody asks you if you should be planted and then they presume they shall control your growth and your destiny.
Your chances.
I am trying to judge my plants based on my perception of the chance each of them has.
Peace and Planting!
Yours,
Manol
