And because of that, I want to share with you our School's Farm. Our School has a farm located at Baranggay Banakod, in Bogo City Cebu, Philippines. This farm is taken care of by the boys who are Intern Scholars at our School.
But before anything else, let me share with you that our school was one of the luckiest schools in town because we were chosen by the municipality's Department of Agriculture, and they conducted training for students, called Farmers Field School for Vegetables Production

Some snaps of our garden making
The Department of Agriculturists held a total of sixteen Fridays, teaching us how to plant crops.
Most of the students in our school participated in this type of activity. Many participants were not used to touching soil, nor have any ideas on how to plant veggies.
But through the process, it helped us a lot. We have learned that participating in this type of activity will teach us many lessons that can probably change everyone's lifestyle.

(Our team's 3D animated picture)
We were grouped into five, and I belonged to group one. We named our group, Earthworm. As we all know, earthworms are color brown, but we put a color pink on our 3D animated picture because we want to put a style in it.
We chose that name because the representatives of the Department of Agriculture who were there asked us to think of insects or any pests that can be found in the garden. That is why, earthworm is our chosen one.
The benefit of earthworms in soil is that it is useful in making the soil healthy. Earthworm waste is full of nutrients and once it is mixed in the soil, it will improve the production on the farm.
Just like us, other groups had their team names. They name their group as Team Bug, Team Grasshopper, Team Silkworm, and Team Butterfly.

Planting may be new to others, but in sixteen Fridays of meeting each other, we have learned so much. We were taught how to properly plant a seed, how to make a garden, how to apply organic pesticides, and all other things in gardening.
Some groups planted their garden with Ampalaya or Bitter gourd in English, some also planted eggplant, tomatoes, lettuce, and chili.
Yes, everyone is having fun and I truly believe in the saying You will reap what you sow. After sixteen Fridays of putting and exerting our efforts in our garden, the time has come and we graduated from the training named Farmers Field School for Vegetable Production.
Last December 27, 2023, we graduated from the training. And one more thing that happened that day was that we harvested the vegetables we planted. It is so fulfilling knowing that this is now the price of our labor.

Take a look at how healthy and pretty the team earthworms' bitter gourd is.😊 This is very delicious when cooked.
We were able to produce such healthy bitter gourd because of our Almighty God and because of the hard work and perseverance we exerted. Through the assistance of Department of Agriculture representatives, we made it possible.
Bitter gourd is good for health. It is low in calories and high in fiber. It can control diabetes, purify blood, boost immunity, and have anti-aging effects.

Other groups harvested their crops as well. Same as ours, they harvested such healthy and fruitful crops.
That's what we got during the training. But as I have said, this is a farm. It is expected that you can see more in here.
Just like this one. This is Kalamansi. It is rich in Vitamin C. They are family with Lemon and all other Citrus fruits. It can also help blood lower pressure and aid in weight loss.
The farm has Lemon Grass. Most Filipinos use this when cooking chicken soup. Thus, it can treat High blood pressure. 😊
We called it Alugbati. This is part of the spinach family. This is a vegetable and is delicious when cooked specially in utan bisaya or a Filipino vegetable dish in English. Utan Bisaya is composed of various vegetables such as squash, eggplant, horseradish, and all. Alugbati can also be cooked as ginisa or saute.
They also planted Cassava. Its root is edible and can be made as flour. It is a good source of dietary fiber.
This is Eggplant. Among all other veggies, this is my favorite. I can eat extra rice when we cook this at home. I like it when it is cooked as Torta (eggplant omelet) or in a saute way. This is one of the best among all viands for me. 🥰
The Banakod Farm has also this one. A *Frutiful Papaya. This is so delicious especially when ripe. It can help and improve digestion.
It has also plenty of Dragon Fruit. Thus, it has no fruit yet because it is not the season of Dragon fruit. I tried this one and I can say that it is yummy.
Pineapple is also present in our school's farm. Just like the dragon fruit, the Pine apple has no fruit at the moment because it is not the season for pineapples.
We can also see a **banana tree **beside the pineapple. 😊
Fresh from the farm, Cacao. I picked and ate it freshly guys. Did you know that chocolates are made from cacao? Well, now you know.😁
Yum, Yummy, Custard apple! 😍 My Craving was satisfied after eating it. ❤️
You can see one goat in the photo, but believe me it has three or four more goats.
The farm also has chickens.
It is a good and peaceful spot. It is giving a province vibes. And that is me lying on the swing. You can even sleep there while listening to the sound of birds. Or even the music of waves. Just to let you know, the farm is surrounded by sea. We even planted mangroves there.
You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours

And yes, thank you for being with me. I hope that I inspired you to plant your veggies and fruits.
It can help us in our daily living, and we can learn how to appreciate our own.
I am telling you that once you can grow your plant, the happiness you can feel is unexplainable. There is magic in planting! 😉
I also encourage everyone to eat healthy. Nowadays, we are prone to diseases because of the food we intake. Let us start living healthy because as they say, HEALTH IS WEALTH.
Keep safe people! 😍
