Hello friends of the garden! I certainly wasn't a plant enthusiast, which isn't to say I didn't like plants with their beautiful flowers or splendid foliage, just that I didn't consider myself good with them. I've always admired a beautiful garden and the person who owns it; I've always thought they have a green thumb. Then I joined this wonderful Hive community, which made me see life differently and made me think about and want a beautiful garden, different from the one I had. I honestly dream about my plants. The first thing I do when I leave the house is go check on their progress, and how happy I am when I see a new leaf sprouting! It's truly enchanting and fulfilling to dedicate oneself to the world, and why not, to the challenge of cultivating, whether ornamental, medicinal, or for consumption, which is my case, because I have all these varieties.
Today I want to show you one of each variety, and the progress of each one.
These small chili pepper seedlings, planted in a small egg carton, were ready for transplanting, and as I had told you before, I was afraid to do it because of the neighbors' chickens, but I wanted to take the risk, and I did it.
Look at those healthy roots...
Look, that was February 17th, today is the 28th, that is, just a few days, specifically, eleven days, and they look quite healthy, thank God 🙏
I planted this plantain plant in June of last year, almost a year ago now. I hope, God willing, it will soon reward me with its fruit. I took this photo right at the moment of this post. As you can see, despite it being the supposedly cold season, the sun is blazing. In fact, the leaves are already wilting; the weather is very hot right now.
This is one of my medicinal plants, marjoram. It's a plant widely used in cooking for its distinctive flavor and aroma. But it also has medicinal properties that provide valuable nutrients to the body. If you'd like to include it in your diet to take advantage of its nutritional qualities, here are its benefits: It has a calming effect, digestive properties, and is anti-inflammatory and soothing. It relieves headaches. Marjoram, also known as mayorana, has a sweeter flavor, so it can be consumed fresh or dried and is often used as a seasoning in cooking. It's ideal when you have little ones at home suffering from stomach ailments or colic. Marjoram contains vitamins A, E, B1, and B2, and minerals such as zinc, magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium. A very beneficial plant, don't you think?
These are two cassava plants for our consumption; I've never planted them before, I hope I did it right.
The mango tree, although strongly battered by the winds of these last few days, has managed to set some fruit, and others, let's hope that the winds that are coming in March will not be too strong, and that it will manage to set those that are still very small.
This is the other variety of plantain, commonly known in the eastern part where I live as "donkey plantain," used in our cuisine to make the best tostones or the softest and most delicious chatino plantains 😋
What you see here now is part of my project, thanks to this community, because I didn't have these plants, and I made a firm commitment to create a beautiful garden. There's still more that I haven't shown you yet; I'll save that for another time. I hope to continue sharing other progress I've made, but for now, I want to thank everyone in this wonderful gardening community for reaching me. I'd appreciate any suggestions, or if I make any mistakes while planting, I'm also open to correcting them. Thank you. 😘🤗♥️
I should also mention that in order to communicate and make this post, I used Google Translate.
Right now I feel like people in the countryside when they have crops planted, and it starts to rain. It started to rain, which is great for my plants. After several days of extreme heat from a scorching sun, the coolness of the rain is ideal for them to grow strong and healthy.
And the blessed rain came 🙏
