"Cleaning Our School Garden"
Greetings, community! Today I want to share my first post here. I confess that I have been an observer of your wonderful content, always filled with a deep passion for plants. For 15 years, I have been working at a special education institution, where we provide support to young people with special needs, from the age of 15 until their transition into the working world. Sometimes, these young people spend their last years here due to their situation.
At our institution, we have an agriculture workshop with 18 students enrolled. Many of them have been part of this workshop for years, as they greatly enjoy their work as farmers. Every month, the teacher in charge organizes cleaning days that involve all the workshops at the institution, including teachers, workers, maintenance staff, and security guards.
When these days arrive, I feel very fortunate, as one of my specialist's recommendations has always been to be in contact with nature due to my health condition. Planting and watering plants has benefited me greatly, and I have been thrilled to see how this activity has had a positive impact on my emotional health. When I connect with nature, I find peace and tranquility; sadness and problems fade away, and only calmness comes to me as stress dissipates. Today I want to share with you a day of cleaning in our school garden.
Our institution has very large gardens, tended with much love and care. There we have many crops that have given us productive harvests. On this occasion, we did a thorough cleaning of the main gardens and the planters made with blocks, in order to use them productively. We formed working groups to begin this cleaning. One group was in charge of collecting dry leaves from the fruit trees, while another cleaned the molasses from the ground.
We organized ourselves into teams to bring large bags where we would empty all the trash collected during the cleanup. After cleaning the area where we would be working, we began planting plants such as bananas and plantains. We also planted sunflower seeds for the future benefit of our institution. We finished by watering everything we had planted, as we have an irrigation system. These plantings are beneficial for our institution as they can support the production of the workshops that currently exist.
This day was filled with joy and camaraderie, as we treat each other like family there. The students call me "mami" instead of "profesor," and that is something that cannot be compared to anything else. While we cleaned, we laughed at anecdotes and had a great time taking pictures. This project made me very happy, as sunflowers are my favorite flowers. In the block planters, we planted cilantro, basil, and chives, known as leaf onions. Despite having an irrigation system, we are organized into teams to ensure that the planting is done in the best way possible.
Best of all, in addition to these activities, this workshop is also responsible for planting medicinal plants. When they are ready, they process these teas and sell them to the public or to the institution's staff. Well, my friends, I hope this content is useful to all of you. It was a pleasure to share with you this wonderful day, full of joy, peace, tranquility, and relaxation while cleaning and planting seeds. If you are looking for peace and tranquility, as well as stress relief, this is the best option; I invite you to enjoy nature. Now I say goodbye, sending you many blessings and success. 🙏🤗
See you soon! 👋
Happy for your visit
