Hello garden lovers! Yesterday evening we moved some of the pre-planted cabbage to the garden and I took some photos to share with you.
After onion, garlic and snap peas harvest, there is a decent area of our garden left to plant cabbage. We have a bunch of pre-planted cabbage and yesterday evening me and my mom picked the bigger seedlings that were ready for planting. After digging small "little houses" as we call them in Serbian, we had to water them as the soil was very dry.
Next it was time to dig holes for the roots and I did that with this DIY tool while my mom did the planting. This tool is very handy and it makes planting easier and faster (and kind of fun!).
I also made sure to place each seeding to its place just to make things easier for my mom and to keep track of how much I need to pull out from the pre-planted area. I forgot to take a photo of the pre-planted cabbage but I hope I won't forget when we do a round two of planting.
This is how it ended up looking when it was done! On the left you can see we still have some garlic that was planted in the spring time and soon it will be harvested so that will open up more space for cabbage. It might seem like a lot but we use a bunch of fresh cabbage to make fresh salads and also for fermented cabbage that is very popular in Serbia and it's one of the must pickled veggies for winter time.
