Hello everyone and welcome to another #gardenjournal post where I will share some photos I took at the end of March and today. Check out the original post here in case you want to join in and share your gardening experience. :)
End of March
In March we did some planting that I already shared and we even had the watering system all set up as it was quite hot and the soil was dry. But last few days of March we very gloomy and grey with occasional light rain which was actually good for the garden.
Here's our pre-planted peppers that are still not growing out. We have four of these plastic trays and we did this method for a couple of years now. We were already expecting them to grow so I'm not sure if more time needs to pass or this will be a fail this gardening season, I guess we'll see and I'll keep you updated.
This is the garden view on one of those gloomy days. I was a little bit worried that the lower temperatures will do some harm to all the fruit blooms but so far they seem okay which is something I am very grateful for.
The amount of tree photos I have on my phone right now is crazy, haha. I absolutely LOVE taking photos of our trees and garden during this time of the year, making sure I capture every change, no matter how small it is. Even on gloomy days, there is so much beauty in Spring blossoms, green leaves and nature in general.
Photos from today
Today was finally a nice, sunny day! It was still windy and a little bit colder but the fact that grey clouds are gone and we had sunshine all day makes me happy. Our pear and plum trees are looking gorgeous with all the white blooms!
Peach trees also look beautiful, I am in love with this pink color.
I noticed that our apple tree also has a lot of there pale red buds so I am expecting them to bloom soon. Hazelnut tree has a bunch of green leaves and I will have to clean up all the pollen (I think that's the name of long brown worm-looking things that fall off, haha), but I will wait a couple more days to do that.
Here's our improvised green house that we open up on nice days like today to get some sunshine. All the pre-planted veggies here are growing and looking good so far so if you don't have a proper green house, making something like this also works and it's good for small spaces.
I am happy to share that all of the raspberries are starting to form leaves and my garden guard also says everything looks good so he can take a little break and enjoy the sun. :D
Garden overview on a nice and sunny day! Coming here makes me so happy and grateful for this piece of land where we can grow all the veggies and fruits we love.
We will have to mow the grass soon but until then bees can enjoy these yellow dandelions but even without them, we have flowers of fruit trees and around our house, roses are yet to come and even though I don't know anything about bees, I like the idea of having some kind of flowers available for them and also to make our outdoors area pretty and colorful.
