It's 110 square meters, but it's a disaster. It's been neglected for years, and some uncivilized people have even used it as a dump (I even found some syringes, I can't imagine what they were doing there). Now that I have some free time, while waiting for my husband's back to get better and he can start cleaning it with a blender, I've decided to start doing something, at least for the first part of the garden. In the meantime, I bought some essentials: gloves, scissors, grass bags, and a sickle. I'd never used a sickle before, but it's not difficult, although you obviously have to be careful. So this morning I got down to business and started doing the garden. My goodness, there's really too much to do, but you have to start somewhere, right?

Mientras tanto, compré algunos elementos esenciales: guantes, tijeras, bolsas para césped y una hoz. Nunca antes había usado una hoz, pero no es difícil, aunque obviamente hay que tener cuidado. Así que esta mañana me puse manos a la obra y empecé a trabajar en el jardín. Madre mía, hay muchísimo que hacer, pero hay que empezar por algún lado, ¿no?
First I worked on the outside right part where there are some garden roses that I wanted to free from weeds. Unfortunately, there are so many weeds, I started by removing the bulk with the sickle. It took me a couple of hours and I still hadn't eliminated all the weeds despite the effort made, also because some were brambles attached to a net that I found a while ago, probably a flower net, also because while I was cutting I also found some calla lilies that I hope to save and revive. Then some parts of the grass were tough and I couldn't remove them with the sickle, so I had to pull them up by hand, unfortunately also taking away a bit of soil. I put away a lot of useless grass and made three bags full of weeds to take away. I'm quite satisfied but also frustrated because there's still too much chaos, too many weeds and I would like to make a garden right away. I want to get it sorted out so I can plant some flowers and make a small vegetable garden and then save the plants that are already there. It will be hard work but I hope soon to be able to show you a beautiful garden full of flowers, plants and hopefully some vegetables!
Primero trabajé en la parte exterior derecha, donde hay unas rosas de jardín que quería limpiar de malas hierbas. Desafortunadamente, había muchísimas, así que empecé quitando la mayor parte con la hoz. Me llevó un par de horas y, a pesar del esfuerzo, todavía no había eliminado todas las malas hierbas, también porque algunas eran zarzas enganchadas a una red que encontré hace un tiempo, probablemente una red para flores, y también porque mientras cortaba encontré unas calas que espero salvar y revivir. Luego, algunas partes del césped eran duras y no pude quitarlas con la hoz, así que tuve que arrancarlas a mano, llevándome también un poco de tierra. Guardé un montón de césped inservible e hice tres bolsas llenas de malas hierbas para llevarme. Estoy bastante satisfecho, pero también frustrado porque todavía hay demasiado desorden, demasiadas malas hierbas y me gustaría tener un jardín ya mismo. Quiero arreglarlo para poder plantar algunas flores y hacer un pequeño huerto, y luego salvar las plantas que ya están ahí. Será un trabajo duro, pero espero poder mostrarles pronto un hermoso jardín lleno de flores, plantas y, con suerte, ¡algunas verduras!
