Hello friends, it is a pleasure to visit this wonderful community again, today I want to show you a paprika seedbed which I decided to protect with plastic mesh, the truth is that I decided to protect the seedbed because a month ago I made some seedbeds and left them outdoors and the seedlings were attacked by all kinds of insects, reptiles and birds, many dry leaves also fell from the trees, those leaves crush the small plants, and do not let them grow, so I lost many seedlings.
Yes friends, a month ago I made a paprika seedbed and when they began to germinate they were crushed by the leaves that fell from the avocado trees, apart from animals such as birds and reptiles, which passed over those seedbeds and ate them, this situation made me look for a way to protect the future seedbeds so that the same thing as the previous ones would not happen to them, so it occurred to me to build a tunnel-type cover, with the use of PVC pipes in the shape of arches and mosquito netting.
Notice how the birds, reptiles and dry leaves ruined this seedbed:
Tunnel-type coverage, made with plastic mesh to protect the seedbeds
I made this coverage with 3/4 inch diameter PVC tubes and plastic mosquito netting. I cut the tubes 1.5m long and then applied heat to them with the stove to give them the shape of an arch.
Look at the arc shape of the tubes:
Installation of the arches:
Well friends, the arches are placed on the seed bed and a wooden stake is inserted into each end of the tube. You can also use pins, but this material is expensive, so the most economical and functional ones are with thin stakes:
Look at the distribution of the arches on the seedbed:
Installation of the plastic mesh over the arches:
Well friends, after placing all the arches over the seedbed area, now I am going to cover these arches with the plastic mesh and thus the plants will be protected when they germinate and develop:
