Hello, today I came to tell you about the garden and agricultural activities that I carried out on my second day of traveling to the town. I am going to put them a little more in context, when I was little I lived with my grandparents and my grandfather (May he rest in peace) was a farmer at the time and he made me help him clear the weeds from the patio and plant some plants.
Currently, my uncle is in charge of this site and he also likes agriculture, so I started to help him with a couple of tasks that you will see below and that made me realize that I am really out of shape haha ββπ
The first activity we did was plant some pepper sprouts that my grandmother had already germinated before. In this task I really did not help much, since it does not involve anything complicated, it is simply to open a hole, sow the sprout and cover the hole.
We hope that within about 2 months the plants will be giving the first peppers. Depending on the amount we manage to harvest, some will be used for our consumption and others will be put up for sale. We know that there are not many and that we will not become millionaires with these sales, although it makes us happy to know that we help customers by giving them quality products at a good price. It is the inexplicably satisfying feeling that hearing the phrase "what good peppers you are selling" gives us βΊοΈ
Another of the activities that we did and that if I had to do it, was to do the daily watering. It seems very easy to do and it really is, it is simply waiting for the furrow or channel to fill with water and move the hose to the next furrow.
But, unfortunately, as in many towns in Venezuela, there are problems with the water and in this particular case, the water arrives 4 hours a day, 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon. So you can't just put the hose down and walk away, you have to make the most of every drop of water and that means I have to literally sit in front of each furrow, sometimes in the sun, waiting for the right time to move on to the next furrow.
Very easy task, although very exhausting π
Another of my tasks was to create several new furrows to plant corn, this task undoubtedly exhausted me, the earth is very hard and dry, which made it very difficult to make the furrow.
After a little effort I managed to make them and later I planted 3 or 4 grains of corn in each hole located at the edge of each furrow.
Here I make a small parenthesis to say that the images where I appear opening the furrow and planting the corn grains are screenshots. Since the original idea was to use GIF, but unfortunately due to their weight I couldn't upload them.
I could have made a video and uploaded it to #3speak, although that's part of something you'll see in the next few days.
While my uncle was freeing himself to do the last task of the day, I had time to take a picture of a pineapple and to notice that I did not leave sufficiently prepared to carry out these tasks.
On the one hand, I was wearing shorts and sports shoes, but not just any sports shoes, rather, the only ones that I had taken with me and with which I had to return to the city the next day. Washing them was not an option, because they would not dry in time, so yes, I went back to the city with my shoes full of puddles π
Our last activity of the day was to transplant a banana plant. For this I had to dig a hole just over half a meter deep, it was quite tiring to tell the truth. And yes, I used my hands to remove the dirt that was left over.
Later, together with my uncle, we uprooted the plant in question and finally that was how it ended up. This plant will take a few months to prosper, although hopefully this year we will be eating bananas from our own harvest βΊοΈ

And that's basically how we ended the day. We took advantage of the last hour of water to bathe and sit down to see what we had achieved βΊοΈ
For many it will not be a big step forward, although for us, who are a couple of lazy people, it is a gigantic step. My uncle is in charge of taking care of all the banana plants on a daily basis and continuing to clean and plant other plants. For my part, I finished my agronomist adventure until I visit again.
Thank you very much for reading, I really appreciate your support and I hope you can share my content with other people. Until next time βΊοΈ
