HAPPY WEEKENDS TO ALL
Lets talk about these amazing fruits seriously they are like natures own candy store out there in the tropics. There is just something so special about walking through lush green spaces and seeing all these different plants heavy with fruit. Every single one has its own unique look taste and way of making our meals and snacks so much better.
There is what folks sometimes call sour soup fruit. I know the name sounds a little weird but trust me its so cool. The tree grows nice and tall with shiny leaves and the fruits are kinda round with thick skin. When you cut into them the flesh is super tart perfect for making all sorts of dishes from tangy sauces to refreshing drinks. A lot of people love adding it to their meals to give everything that extra zing.
Then weve got mangoes come on who doesnt love mangoes. These trees are everywhere you look in warm places band when they are in season the air just smells like sweetness. You can eat them straight off the tree, slice them up for snacks or turn them into ice cream and smoothies. Every time I bite into a ripe mango I feel like I’lm on vacation its just that good.
Papayas are another favorite of mine. They grow on these slender trees that dont get too huge, so you can even have one in your backyard. The fruits start out green and turn bright orange when they are ready to eat. Cut one open scoop out the little black seeds in the middle and dig in the flesh is so soft and creamy its like eating dessert for breakfast. Plus everyone says they are really good for you too
Dragon fruit is probably one of the most eye catching fruits around. The plant itself is a cactus which is pretty wild when you think about it a cactus that grows fruit. The outside is bright pink or yellow with green scales and inside its either white or deep pink with tiny black seeds that look like poppy seeds. It doesnt have a super strong flavor but its crisp and refreshing and it looks amazing when you slice it up for a fruit platter.
Bananas we all know bananas right. But have you ever seen a banana plant up close. They are not actually trees they are giant herbs The bunches hang down heavy and full and you can pick them green to cook with or wait till they are golden yellow for snacking. You can make banana bread fry them up with sugar or just peel and eat them on the go they are perfect for pretty much anything.
And last but not least citrus fruits oranges lemons limes you name it. These trees are so nice to have around because they are always green and sometimes they bloom with tiny white flowers that smell incredible. Squeeze some fresh lime over your food make orange juice for breakfast or add lemon to your tea there is no end to what you can do with them.
All these fruits are just so special they bring color flavor and so much joy to our lives. Whether you are growing them yourself picking them at a market or just enjoying them as part of a meal they are a reminder of how amazing nature is at giving us exactly what we need.
