Hello friends #hivegarden everyone
A few days no see, how are you all friends, did everything go according to plan, this time I have good and bad news for you guys, and let's start with the bad news first
The bad news is, the rain has continued to hit the kamai area for the past 4 days, even some areas have been flooded and forced residents to evacuate, and until now the flooding has not subsided, but where I am the water has started to recede,
This morning, the weather was a bit sunny, after raining from yesterday afternoon and lasted about 10 hours, seeing this slightly nice weather, I went to the backyard to see the condition of my banana garden, and without having to explain you can see for yourself the condition in the picture above
At first glance, nothing seems wrong, but when I went deeper, I found two banana stalks that had collapsed due to being swept away by the current, and one of them was even bearing fruit.
It's very sad to see this banana that is bearing fruit, the fruit is quite old, but still I don't know what to do, so I brought it home to make my cattle feed,
On the other hand, I saw that the flood had begun to recede, it can be seen from the water marks in the photo below
I feel a little relieved to see this, even though the banana tree is resistant to water, it does not guarantee it will not fall, the roots are too weak, just a little landslide will surely fall.
However, this is nothing compared to what the residents of my village have suffered, thousands of hectares of rice fields have been completely submerged by floods, what is unfortunate is that the average farmer only planted his rice a few days ago.
Look at that, it's really unexpected, even though the water has started to recede, according to the opinion of the farmer I met earlier, the newly planted rice can't grow healthy anymore, except for some rice that has started to grow, it will can be maintained, said the farmer
My village has a fairly large area of rice fields, it can even reach tens of hectares, and the photos above are several different locations in my village, to make it easier, see the following google maps photo
The entire rice field area that I marked above was completely flooded, and the losses achieved were quite large by the farmers, even though it had been raining for about 4 days, but it didn't stop, even I ran out of dry clothes because I couldn't dry them.
The government has made various efforts, but what can be done if nature has so willed
Apart from that, there is one good news that I will convey this time, the good fortune was owned by my friend who managed to harvest his melons right the day before the flood hit, here are some pictures where I was watching the melon harvesting process a few days ago
My friend's luck, when he harvested the melons, the weather here was still as usual, it could even be said to be quite hot, look at me the sunshine in the photo, even though it was still early in the morning, who would have guessed that the day after that the flood would arrive
He harvests two types of melons at once, which are planted simultaneously on one plot of land, I don't know exactly what the two types of melons are.
Now that is the owner of this melon garden, he has been in agriculture for almost 15 years, he has planted a lot of plants, but according to his confession, melon is a promising business in agriculture,And he's also the one who taught me how to take care of plants, I just like gardening, but don't make money through the garden, so it's only natural that my plants are nothing compared to the garden of an expert
I had a chance to taste the yellow melon, the taste is a little different, the flesh is soft and tender, unlike other melons which have a crunchy taste in the flesh,
That's all I can say this time, hopefully the flood here will recede quickly so that farmers don't suffer so much loss, thank you all and see you again
