Mama finally harvested one of the Kundol in her garden. She only tried the small one and prepared it for her lunch. She mixed pork fats which she fried the other day. And Kundol really us similar to Upo, its skin is the only difference they have because Kundol has grayish skin while Upo is a pale green, Kundol has a prickly skin as well, while Upo is easy to carry unlike Kundol. It is almost as if the Kundol doesn't want To be eaten. Lol
Those thorn really us small and thin, but when they're this close to each other, they can be very painful too to your hands. Upo is also a gourd so why Upo doesn't have this thorn like skin no?
And this is the inside of Kundol, that's the seeds, really similar to Upo. Mama removed this in the middle part. And I think this is already a mature one. We noticed that it already stop growing but i'm stopping mama from harvesting it because you know, it might not ready yet? Haha. But how wrong I was. Not sure if the taste will change because we harvested it overly matured.
And this is the flesh. And one small kundol already has this much. Not bad no? But how much us Kundol right now? I'm curious. No one sells this here in the public market. I'm wondering why (⌐■-■)
Mama just sauteed it and even mix few okras. She also didn't cook it that long, just a few minutes. It looks good no? But for some reason, its kinda bitter. Mama didn't eat it because of that (╥﹏╥). I also tried one piece of it but it taste bitter but the texture of the flesh is really just like of Upo. These dish ended up in our dogs belly. They happily eat it with rice ƪ(‾.‾“)┐
But really though, why it is so bitter? Whats the cause of it? Ahhh, is it because of the fried pork? Mama doesn't want to cook the rest, sadly ʘ‿ʘ
And so, she decided that it is time to remove them. She already remove those hanging on the fence because it becomes too messy looking already. And snakes might hide there so better remove it.
Right now, there are still three kundol on its tree. One I think is overly matured already, that big one, it is the first sprout actually. I asked mama what she planned with those but even her has no plan yet for it.

And guys, I haven't really given any update about our Camias right? I shared about it last March, Mama got a seedling in the forest near our house and planted it in our yard. Its two seedlings and she Planted them in different spot.
The other one Was already this tall. Feels like it could go taller if only the soil in This part is much better. But still, the progress is still right and it doesn't really need our time to take care of it. With the rain and mr.sunny's mightiness, they can grow higher on their own.
And here's the other one, this one's much taller and look how it is almost the same height with that wall. Few mroe years and maybe we can finally see it bear its first fruit. I remember eating Camias and just dipping it in salt. Remembering it now made my mouth drool, lol. This is also great in any soupy dish, like fish soup. If there's a lot of fruits we can just harvest them and dry them for it to last longer ♪ \(ω\ )
