Hello everyone.
We are already one month into the Spring. Days are longer and warmer. Plants in the garden are already awake for some time. Grass is in its mode as well.
Good time to have a short garden update.
I am back home after some time and change in garden is huge. Leaves showing up on many trees and flowers are everywhere. Cherry grafts are doing well. Figs are still waiting - only branches so far.
On different note yesterday we had quite strong hail. It lasted for some time and there was a good amount of the ice after all was done.
This was aftermath of the yesterdays sudden hail.
Flower petals and leaves were take down. Not that much damage though but we will see later on. I dont remember this strong hail recently and in late April as well.
All in all garden is doing well. Now grass trimming has to be done.
Cherries are stars of the garden. So many flowers. We have different cherry types - sweet cherries, sour cherries and black cherries.
This year we grafted 4 different cherry types. It looks all of them are doing good for now. New additions are black or dark cherry, Regina, Carmen and Sunburst. Some of them are early and some of them are late sweet cherry types.
As you can see some of the grafts have so many leaves already.
There are many flowers on all apple trees. Can you easily differentiate apple flower from other fruit flowers? Any particular fruit flower that you mix up?
Other fruit trees are in good shape as well. Pears and plums doing nice.
It is still a bit early for the figs. This year we have new addition to the figs in our garden. New smaller size variety is newest addition.
Grape collection is bigger for two new grape vines.
All in all all plants are doing good. Now it is time to trim some grass.
