I decided to order another set of Barrina LED Grow lights for the plant shelves. I already had two per shelf and wanted to spread them out wider for better coverage of the seed flats.
These lights are so easy to assemble and hang that even a child could do it. lol
Now that I have three LED lights above each shelf, I can put the flats in vertically instead of horizontally. This offers me much better use of the space and now I'm able to have 16 flats of seedlings growing at one time.
These hot peppers germinated back in mid-February under the LED grow lights.
This week I transplanted them up into small pots and yesterday moved them out into the greenhouse.
I had a tray of spinach that needed to go into the tower gardens. That was another task completed, and they are starting to perk up after transplanting them.
I have two different varieties of spinach. The one on the far right is an Asian variety and I really like the texture and taste of that one over the standard type.
You can tell it has good substance with the closeup of this plant. I will be harvesting a few of the leaves this week to add to salad.
The Purple Bok Choi were large enough to handle and put into the #hydroponic floats. After one day they seem to have adapted quite well.
I also did one float with the rest of the Asian Spinach. I want to compare the soil and the hydroponics to see if there is much difference in texture and taste too.
Now that I have a lot of the plants out in the greenhouse, I can start the next round of seeds this weekend. The sun is shining, the daffodils are popping up, and Spring has definitely arrived.
Until next time, this is Sunscape
