To think that this is what the greenhouse looked like 3 weeks ago and today all the snow has melted due to the extremely high temperatures this month.
With the sun shining and my spring gardening itch that needed to be scratched, I decided it was the perfect day to prep the greenhouse.
This is how warm it got that day and it was even hotter inside the greenhouse.
I had moved the tall strawberry tower in her for the winter and most of the plants seemed to have survived. Since the weather is quickly changing, I moved all of them back outside to slow them down a bit. Now that side of the greenhouse is all swept and ready for seedling trays.
The tubs for the hydroponics were filled with rainwater that we collected, and they are ready for all the lettuce to be put in.
These small tower gardens are filled with soil and ready for planting when the seedlings are large enough. I'm going to wait 2 more weeks before moving plants into the greenhouse. Right now, they are growing inside the house on racks with plant lights.
I purchased all new cocoa liners for the hanging baskets, and they are ready to be filled with soil.
These potatoes chitted a few weeks ago, so I planted them into two grow bags and kept them in the garage. Hubby and I carried them out to the greenhouse and now they can grow in there until we can put them safely outside.
They are tucked in place at the south side of the greenhouse on the floor and should do very well there. It was nice to get everything ready to receive the seed trays. It won't be long before they can go out, but it will depend on how cold the nights will be. Last year I put them out too early in March and it cost me a lot to heat it with electric heaters to keep the plants from freezing. I won't make that mistake this year.
Mika, and I enjoyed sitting on the porch after all the work was done and then she took a nice nap in one of the porch chairs.
Today, I have to start some more seeds, sweet peppers and tomatoes will be the first to get done. That will be enough for me for one day.
