Everything is growing so quickly now; I pulled off the insect netting to trim up some of the cabbage leaves. They are all starting to form heads and the cauliflower is over 2' tall already.
It won't be long before I harvest some of these Napa (Chinese) Cabbage. I can see a Kimchi making day in the near future.
The onions needed topping, so I took time to get that done and cut done the chives too. They went into the dehydrator to dry.
The patio cherry tomato plants have a lot of flowers on them now. Soon we should have tomatoes to add to the lettuce we are growing. That variety is prolific, and it is a good thing I put them into containers with a support.
You can see that they are getting taller than the wire support. The red lettuce is still going strong, and we can hardly keep up with it all.
The tower garden with the strawberries is fruiting here and there. They are so sweet and juicy, I can hardly wait until next year when the plants are mature enough to give a nice amount.
The bush beans are doing very well too, and I saw some flower shoots starting on a couple of them.
The small herb and lettuce towers are filling in once again. The spinach was done so those spots got replanted with lettuce. For some reason all the radish in the bottom rows have not formed any bulbs and they are flowering. They should have done so by now.
That is disappointing for sure. I should find a spot to replant some seed in the vegetable garden.
The Lobelia and petunias are flowering that are in the top row of the towers. I had to have something colorful besides just herbs.
I did the same in the tomato pots and put Marigolds alternating with lettuce. This is working very well, and they are sitting right off the porch for easy picking.
All the tomato plants in the vegetable garden had to be tied up and the lower leaves trimmed off. It helps to keep the soil from splashing onto the plants which keeps them from getting blight. Plus, trimming them as they grow gives them better airflow and sunlight for the fruit too.
It is going to be another nice day, so I have a few odd projects to work on outside. Happy gardening everyone.
