Hello again passionate gardeners!
The Promised Land was in time of reflexion and contemplation and for sure, hands on in the creation of the Medicine Garden.
Nature is slowy waking up from the winter sleep and everything is florishing with her.
When we were travelling we used to dream of one day having our own Medicine food, growing everything organically with companion planting, creating our seedbank and connecting with every stage that gardening requires.
The moment is here and it is just so beautiful...
Before we move in the forest last year we invest in some good demeter quality seeds for healthy fruits and veggetables and also seeds for future gardens to come.
Even thought was quite cold the last month, the greenhouse gave a push to the germination process.
Kresse
Kohlrabi
Tomatoes
Squash
For the designing of the garden we prepare beds of 90cm wide and in between, paths of 30 cm using companion planting (in every bed planting a combination of herbs, flowers and vegetables or fruits) for rich biodiversity, control of pest and many more benefits.
These measures able us to use the fork created by , that he will explain in the future posts.
One month ago in the raised beds we planted some garlic, sunflowers, transplant some lettuce, cabbage and spinach which are thriving good in these cold and wet weeks.
We hope this year to sell some veggies, bread, eggs in the local markets.
Garlic
Salads & Cabbage
Integration of perennial plants at the edges or in every little space we found!
Rosemary & Lavanda everywhere❤️
While planting the garlic, I heard the wild boar behind me quite close, we decide to make a simple fence around the garden with branches and using the weaving methods.
Lets hope they have enough food in these wild forests...
Hope you enjoy the journey throught the Garden Medicina and the beautiful biodiversity of the Bulgarian mountains.
All pictures are made by The Promised Land unless mentioned.
"En este claro solitario y abierto miento,
protegido por ramas profundas en cada mano;
Y al final, para mantener el ojo,
¡esos pinos de corona negra y rojo se mantienen!"
