Hi Nature lovers!ππ
How are you doing?
It is being a long time since The Promised Land had internet connection...
We are back with many insights of what has been happening around here.
Last time, we were working on the visitors toilet with natural materials, this was around two months ago.
We made a frame for the door and around it plaster with glass bottles and clay.
We did one more layer of clay on all the walls, bring stones for the floor and finished with a platform inside for the bucket system.
Outside we placed two compost sections separate for visitors and us, which we are very grateful for!
Once the visitor toilet was finish, we started the project of an extension of the house which will be our bathroom, also dry toilet with bucket system and shower.
We will explain in future post the whole process and where we are at now!
For sure to mention the medicine Garden!π»ππ²
It was such a year of abundance, also of observation and learning.
We had different flowers all over the garden, they bring so much life and beauty.
Through the whole summer till now, we had abundance of chard, kale, spinach, lettuce and carrots for everyday cooking.
Purple carrots
Many beans
Coliflower
Tomatoes and peppers planted outside,on the other hand, were not thriving very good.
It was very hot during the day and fresh in the night, many of them didnΒ΄t ripe or got sick and we gave to the chickens.
Still we could enjoy some salads and collect enough seeds for next year and the neighbour was so kind gave us so much!
Next year we will dedicate both greenhouses to full tomatoes and peppers and add more compost to the soil.
After the beautiful months of summer, start the seed harvesting.
Colourful beans
Sunflower seeds
Marigold
Some corn but mostly got eaten by birds.
We had 3 nice fields of potatoes, from one of them we harvested good amount for the winter but the other two, we wait a bit longer and the mole ate most of it.
I hope you enjoy the tour!!!
All pictures are made by the Promised Land unless mentioned.
Soon coming more updates, preservation methods and much....in the Promised Landππ
