Is there a connection between Chinese New Year and rain? Parents who have had a lot of experience in their lives say that when it is close to Chinese New Year or Chinese holidays, it always rains, sometimes even flooding. This is like luck for them and when I observed it I also said the same thing that Chinese holidays are synonymous with rain, even though I don't know the scientific analysis. So what does all this have to do with me planting mustard greens?
I forgot that when I sowed the mustard seeds I would be going through this Chinese New Year, so that like now the rain continued to fall so hard that the mustard stalks which couldn't stand the heavy rain became rotten and finally I replanted my mustard greens. This time I will plant my mustard greens using plastic cups and some I will plant in polybags. This is because the weather is unpredictable so I don't dare take the risk of moving the mustard seeds that have grown directly into the ground.
I immediately prepared the materials I needed, namely solder to make a hole in the bottom of the glass for water absorption, then there were several glass cups for transferring seeds and soil which I had mixed with compost that I had made myself before. And after everything was ready, I immediately heated the soldering iron and then started to make holes in the plastic cups that I had prepared. After I had finished making holes in all the plastic cups, I filled all the plastic cups with soil.
After I finished filling it with soil, I just had to move the mustard seeds which were starting to grow at around 16 days old. I transferred the mustard seeds one by one carefully into the plastic cups and I hope my method works this time, oh yeah, ignore the appearance of my kitten, friends, he just wants to play with me, don't hate him.
In the future, I really want my mustard greens to grow as well as my neighbors' mustard greens. so that my wife doesn't have difficulty meeting her vegetable needs. And I want my mustard greens not to be contaminated with chemical fertilizers, so the maintenance I need in the future is that I will water my mustard greens with soaked onion skins and organic fertilizer of course. And during this process until harvest, I will let you all know how my mustard greens will be. Pray that this time my mustard is successful, friends. Greetings from Tomidiwirja, Indonesia
