Once my exub and I planned to make a swimming pool. However, first divorce and then war broke this plan. However, there is still a pit in my garden. Gradually, the walls began to crumble, and I still couldn't decide what to do with it.
This year I decided to try to make a small pond using a special pond covering.
I started by cleaning and covering the bottom with straw. Then I laid agrofibre on top and covered everything with a waterproof covering for the pond. I know it's not exactly the rules, but I made everything from the materials I had.
When I filled my improvised pond with water, I was surprised how it levelled the bottom and edges. Now I understand how it works. And I also regretted a little that I didn't buy a larger covering to cover the space completely.
But that's not a problem. I can buy a bigger covering next year. What I did now gave me experience. In addition, I will see how my pond survives the winter.
Now my chickens are helping me with the decoration by removing the weeds. I plan to plant grass and flowers around the perimeter.
