Greeting to everyoneeeeeeeeee ^^!
I just come back to my room and start writing my daily life on Hive Garden after 1 hour enjoying the cup of tea that I have made this morning. Do you remember the coffee flowers bloomed in my garden on the previous post? Yeah! I made tea from it and I cannot wait to write it right now ^^ π, to share my joys with all of you. π. Here we goooooo!*
Two days ago I was up bright and early this morning not only for meditating but also for collecting coffee flowers! Many people wonder why I have to collect coffee flowers in the early morning and what my purpose is.
Well, such a pretty question! Fairly, from coffee flowers, I can make tea with the same scent of jasmine, Sometimes I do not know if coffee flower and Jasmine has similar family or not, but I cannot distingush both scents if I grow them together in garden.
Time to collect coffee flowers
Naturally, after 2 β 3 days when coffee flowers blooms, they will be wilted and be get ready to fall down from the branches. That is the sign to say to me that the pollination duration has come to the end, so I can freely collect coffee flowers without any anxiety.
This flowers is ready to collect.
Why I have to collect coffee flowers in the early morning?
The processes of making tea is not hard in general. The main problem is about its scent and how to keep its fragrance in a long period of time.
In the early morning, before sunrise, after a night time taking bath under the dew, coffee flowers are still immersed in dew. Collecting this time would be available for us to save many active ingredients which are good for our well-being. Furthermore, at this time, coffee flowers will not be dried or dehydrated because of sunlight.
The dew is still lingering on the coffee leaves.
The combination between flower and dew to make tea is still a mystery for me. There are some things in the world that we cannot define or explain by scientific.
According to my organoleptic estimation, early morning is a best time for my mind and body after a long sleep at night, I will have full energy or inspiration to start a new day. It means my spirit affects a lot with my actions (here is about collect coffee flowers) and its quality. A peaceful mind will bring to me a best of cup of tea :D
The processes of making tea from coffee flowers.
All I write here accord to my personal experiences, no reference or copy from any websites or social media.
The simple process goes through 3 steps: Collecting flowers, drying out flowers under the sun and drying by heat.
- Step 1: Collecting flowers.
I will collect flowers which are wilted from branches and put in the container. Please choose the wilted flowers carefully and take them all gently from the branches to get rid of touching the babies fruits.
This is the baby fruits after blooming
Must be gentle when collecting the flowers
- Step 2: Drying out by sunlight
Spreading coffee flowers in the flat awning or other stuff that I have, put it under the sunlight. Depends on the degree of that day, we will consider to dry more or stop. With my eyes and hands, I can determine the color dry level of coffee flowers.
The first day of drying under the sun.
The second day of drying under the sun
- Step 3: Drying by heat.
All I need is about a pot or pan and fire, put coffee flowers in the pan and control the heat, stir gradually untill I could smell its scent in a certain of brittle level, then put it out to let tea get cool.
Now coffee flowers tea is ready for me to use and enjoy.π€
My result after getting cool the dried tea
To get a long use, I can preserve it in the zipper bag.
In order to get a nice pot of tea. I often brew it into a small teapot with a ratio of 5g of flowers and 200ml hot water (approximately 80 β 100 degree celcius), wait for 5 minutes till the water change colors and the flavour is risen. Yeah! Itβs time fα» me to enjoy.
With an idea of take full advantage of every part of the coffee tree, I would love to do as much as I can, create my own products to use and gift for friends.
In the nex post, I would like to introduce and present how to make another tea which is made from the peel of coffee fruits. Have a sweet day, my friends on Hive!!!
