Hello Gardeners Lovers, happy weekend. Today I will tell my friends about a very beautiful ornamental plant that is in my garden. This ornamental plant is called Philodendron.
The Philodendron ornamental plant is famous for the beauty of its leaves. There are several types of Philodendron which are often used in the collections of ornamental plant lovers, such as Philodendron domesticum, Philodendron selloum, Philodendron red leaf and various other Philodendrons. I have a Philodendron xanadu type.
Philodendron xanadu is famous for its large and shiny leaves. Apart from that, this type of Philodendron xanadu can grow well outdoors and indoors, therefore Philodendron xanadu is easy to care for without special treatment.
When I planted Philodendron xanadu in the front garden, I was surprised by its very fast growth, at 24 months old, this ornamental plant had very large leaves, even 3 Philodendron xanadu leaves could wrap tightly around my body. When I stretched out my fingers and placed them on the Philodendron leaves, my fingers looked very small among the very large leaves of the Philodendron plant.
Philodendron leaves look shiny with a unique shape. On each stem there are several plant leaves that are shaped like fingers. This Philodendron ornamental plant has fragrant leaves, therefore the leaves of the Philodendron xanadu plant are used as decoration at wedding receptions. The leaves are also used as cut flowers for ornamental plant mixes or in live flower bouquets.
The bones of the leaves have a dense and sturdy texture, so they can accommodate many and large plant leaves.
This ornamental plant has flowers that resemble fruit and will grow after the plant is 18 months old.
These flowers grow between the leaf midribs. The flowers will be encased in a large green capsule, after a few days the capsule will bloom and produce white flowers. After a few weeks, these flowers will wilt and rot.
At first I thought I could propagate this ornamental plant from seeds, the almost wilted flowers had brown seeds, but as time went on, the Philodendron seeds would rot, so I couldn't harvest them.
It turns out that the Philodendron xanadu ornamental plant is propagated by stem cuttings. We can take old, healthy stems and plant them.
The main stem of the Philodendron plant is only about one meter tall and several hanging roots will grow on this main stem.
To achieve optimal leaf growth, we can plant the Philodendron xanadu plant in the garden. If we plant it in a pot then its growth will not be optimal. If we plant it in a pot, the leaves will grow slowly to a smaller size, compared to if we plant it in the garden.

If we want Philodendron xanadu as an indoor ornamental plant, then we can plant it in a pot. The beauty of the leaves will amaze us, especially in the morning, the leaves will emit a fragrant smell.
I am lucky to have Philodendron xanadu in my garden.
