Just finished this doodle art piece of a mandala I made such a an intricate sense of balance through its swirling lines. I really wanted to share this specifically with all my friends and fellow artists here in the Draw A Day community because I know we are always looking for that next spark of inspiration to keep our daily streak going especially now that most people I know are lacking inspiration or are simply bored. Hope this quick doodle I made will help. This is made using my drawing app on my phone it is not even AI generated I used the power of symmetry and it did all the trick in making a nice mandala.
The composition starts with that sharp, hexagonal star right in the center, this is creating a really powerful focal point that feels like the heart of the whole piece although nothing really was planned here. From there, these curved, petal shapes start taking form and flowing outward in a beautiful spiral, giving the entire drawing a sense of constant motion even though it’s standing still on the page. I love how the black ink stands out so boldly against the white defining each little loop and teardrop shape waiting for someone to give it colors.
I made this one with the coloring fans in mind, providing plenty of distinct sections and negative space so you can really experiment with gradients or some fun neon patterns if that’s your style. I love the way the outer lines curve and tuck back into the circle which adds a layer of complexity to keep your eyes moving around the edges. This mandala really radiates a calming vibe, perfect for finding peace in the repetitive motion of the pen. I just let go and allowed the shapes to build on each other until you have something complete and beautiful. I really hope the members of the Draw A Day crew find some joy in filling this in with colors I can’t wait to see what kind of magic you guys bring to it with your own palette.
