Prompt: Whiskers
Day 21 — Whiskers
Today’s prompt is Whiskers, I was thinking of a close-up image of a cat so I can give a better depiction of it. I wanted the face to feel calm, alert, but does not give a fuzz. The kind of expression that looks like the cat is secretly forming an opinion of you. I kept the shapes simple and bold given the time I had to work with, letting the whiskers take the spotlight instead of overloading it with details. We used to have an orange cat and that was the color choice
I focused on symmetry and that quiet, steady stare. That is how our cats do when they’re just being there observing and I know somehow judging you a little. The whiskers are stretching out like picking up signals around them. This one felt straightforward to draw, no overthinking or big concept for now. The sweater in color blocks is a nice trick to do if you run out of time drawing cat patterns on its fur.
The whole point of this challenge is to show up, draw, move on. No pressure to make it perfect, just letting the page fill.
If you’re following along, late, early, or randomly jumping in, you’re always welcome.
