I saw today’s headline about Trump directing the release of UFO and alien files due to tremendous public interest, and my brain immediately went to the most ridiculous place possible.So I sketched this quick onepanel comic: Trump at the podium, holding up a red folder labeled TOP SECRET ALIENS, declaring “WE’RE DECLASSIFYING THE ALIENS BECAUSE THEY VOTED FOR ME” . well, while a little gray guy in a MAGA hat whispers “Finally” from behind.It’s pure silliness, of course and no deeper statement, just me playing with how wild these news cycles can get. The idea of extraterrestrials secretly voting in an election I know is so over the top but it made me laugh while drawing it. I know that is the right direction to take this comics to. The contrast between the serious podium pose and the absurd whisper felt like the perfect cartoon take on this matter.I love how a single absurd headline can spark a doodle like this. Art is great for turning such moments into something shareable and lighthearted. No agenda here just enjoying the weirdness of the day and turning it into lines on a page.
