Hey guys, check out my latest comic I just finished today I'm submitting this one to the SketchQuest contest because the prompt is about sketching anything that inspires you, and right now, I'm super inspired by the buzz around Buy Nothing Day
The Buy Nothing Idea
If you haven't heard of it, Buy Nothing Day is a protest against consumerism and all that Black Friday craze. Instead of lining up too early in the morning to get a sale, people focus on living simply and spending time with friends and family. It’s all about focusing on what you have rather than buying.
My Take on the Trend
I designed the comic to show contrast. The top panel is that stressful, crowded vibe of people rushing to grab the opportunity for a discount. That feeling of being forced to buy stuff you don't really need.
Now look at the bottom panel. That's the Buy Nothing Day life. It’s chill, sunny, and full of friends or family doing stuff together like having a picnic, sketching, and just hanging out. It’s totally focused on family and community building.
It was super fun creating this comic. Which panel is more relatable for you right now? Wish me luck in the contest
